Ivar — Friesian/Morgan Gelding Ivar is the kind of horse that is hard to let go of. ❤️ He’s an 7-year-old, 16+ hand Friesian/Morgan gelding who has been my first horse getting back into riding after having kids, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better steed. He’s lower in the pecking order, knows the basics, and is not a fancy finished horse — but what he is is dependable, sensible, and incredibly tolerant of whatever weird adventure I come up with next. 😂 I’ve taken him all over the mountains and on countless trails, and he takes new environments, obstacles, and situations in stride. I’ve dressed him up for photoshoots, flown drones around, over, behind him while riding, lake swimming, put him in ridiculous/awkward situations, and generally asked him to tolerate my questionable ideas — and he just goes along with it. He has also put up with my own back-to-beginner riding style after years away from horses. LOL. He’s the kind of horse you can let sit for weeks or even months and pull him out, saddle up, and go ride without having to start from scratch. He’s more on the lazy side, so he’s not going to be the horse dragging you around at 100 mph — which has honestly been one of the things I’ve loved about him. He absolutely loves the mountains and trail riding and is comfortable in different environments. The only reason I’m selling him is because I have too much invested in my other two horses and would like to move toward a western discipline, specifically barrel racing. Unfortunately, Ivar — along with my other Friesian cross and my Andi — just aren'’t built for what I’m wanting to pursue. 😁 I’m being particular about where he goes. I do not want him going to someone who is looking for a horse to pull out once a year for hunting. Ivar is a horse that bonds with his person and deserves someone who actually enjoys having a horse — grooming him, spending time with him, riding trails, and building a relationship with him. He’s been a wonderful horse for me and has taken me through a lot of adventures. I’m hoping to find him someone who will appreciate him for exactly what he is and give him the same kind of home and attention he’s had with me.
