Bandido is a striking approximately 16.2hh gray Friesian × Spanish cross stallion being offered to an experienced home.
This is an extremely difficult sale for me and is being made because of changes in family, time, and financial commitments—not because I have lost interest in this horse. Finding the right situation for Bandido is very important to me.
Bandido has tremendous presence. He is a large, powerful, expressive horse with beautiful movement, a substantial build, abundant mane and tail, and the baroque appearance associated with his Friesian and Spanish background.
His reported sire is Achilles van Tara Farms, also known as “El Aquiles,” a Friesian stallion (KFPS 200805498), by Nanning 374 and out of Diva van Sunshine Ranch. Bandido himself is not registered, and I am selling him as a Friesian × Spanish cross, not as a registered Warlander.
Bandido has been worked primarily toward developing responsiveness, movement, groundwork and traditional horse-dancing/classical-style work. He has a natural presence and expressive movement that I believe could make him an interesting prospect for someone interested in dressage, classical Spanish-style work, traditional dancing or continued baroque sport-horse development.
He does not have trail experience and is not being advertised as a finished trail horse.
Bandido is currently intact and has successfully covered mares.
He is intelligent, energetic and powerful. He can also be strong and distracted, particularly around mares, and therefore requires an experienced, confident horse person with appropriate stallion-handling experience. He is not a beginner's horse.
Bandido also has a known cribbing habit, which I want to disclose honestly to prospective buyers. I am happy to discuss his behavior, management, training history and personality in detail with serious buyers.
He has a lot of horse and a lot of potential for the right person. I would particularly like to see him go to someone capable of continuing his education rather than purchasing him solely because of his appearance.
