Meet Hollywood's Alley Cat, affectionately known as Kitty, a sweet, easy-going 4-year-old registered Missouri Fox Trotter mare standing at 14.2 1/2 hands. Having been started from the ground up, Kitty boasts extensive groundwork and saddle time, making her an exceptionally well-rounded companion.
Trail & Camping Experience: Extensively trail-ridden all over the Ozark mountains, down by the river, and on overnight camping trips where she stays quietly tied all night. She is wonderfully brave alone or in big groups, calm in windy and storming weather, sure-footed through deep water, logs, and steep hills, and completely traffic-safe around semis, highways, ATVs, and farm machinery.
Desensitization & Exposure: Incrediblybombproof, having been around barking dogs, livestock (cows, buffalo, pigs, donkeys, mules, goats), tarps, loud speakers, and even someone in a dinosaur costume. She is comfortable with gunfire and bows being shot off her back.
Advanced Training & Versatility: Known for her smooth gait and rocking horse canter, she side-passes both ways, moves her fore and hind quarters, opens and closes gates, neck-reins, backs well, flexes, and lays down or sits up on command. She can be ridden with a bridle, halter, or just a rope around her neck, and even ridden bareback or double.
Temperament & Ground Manners: Gentle with children (frequently around 1- and 2-year-old nieces), easy to catch, stands beautifully for the farrier, bathing, saddling, trailering, fly-spraying, and mounting from fences or the ground.
Veterinary Inspection: Backed by an official equine inspection from Harrison Animal Clinic (Dr. Heath Jones, DVM) dated August 30, 2024, confirming all physical exam parameters were within normal limits.
Affectionate, athletic, and hard to find in a young package, Kitty is ready to be your next dependable trail mount or trustworthy family partner!
