Dory is a 6yo registered Shire Sport Horse (Shire/TB mix) mare that stands roughly 16.2h and wears a size 4 shoe. She was very lightly started W/T/C as a 4yo in an English barn in California and then sat until recently. We have ridden her in the roundpen, arena and she moved cows on the ranch. She is GREEN, go, stop, plow reins, can be sticky footed when she’s feeling lazy. Stands to be groomed, saddled, drops her head to the ground to be bridled, stands at a mounting block or patiently waits for you to climb up from the ground. This mare is sweet as can be, will wait for you at her gate all day and lives for attention - this is wonderful but does require someone to remind her of her size on occasion. She does require a patient farrier. I’d love to see her go to a home with time to further her education.
