Meet Black Onyx, a 3-year-old registered Tennessee Walking Horse gelding standing at 16 hands tall. He features impressive bloodlines with multiple World Grand Champions (WGC) in his pedigree, including Coin's Hard Cash WGC and Jose Jose.
Temperament & Handling: Calm-minded, quiet, and highly aware of who is on his back—ranging from young grandchildren to field trialers shouting loud demands. He has wonderful ground manners, is easy to catch in a stall or pasture, and gets along great with other horses.
Riding & Trail Experience: Rides great alone, in a pack (leading, in the middle, or in the back), and is content to leave a pack because he is not herd-bound. He has extensive training in the woods, on trails, through water, and alongside heavy traffic including semi tractor-trailers, cars, combines, tractors, and hay equipment. He is also broke to gunfire on his back or on the ground nearby.
Special Skills & Jumping: He has a natural headset and is broke to lope. Recently trained to jump at their facility, he absolutely loves it and far exceeds expectations—his hunter-jumping rider even uses no hands. He has also pulled grandchildren on a sled behind him in the snow.
Health & Veterinary Inspection: Up-to-date on all vaccines, dewormed regularly, and holds a current Coggins. Backed by an official examination from O'Brien Veterinary Hospital (John L. O'Brien, Jr., D.V.M.) dated January 14, 2022, confirming normal front feet, joint flexions, heart, lungs, and eyes, and certifying him sound of wind, limb, and sight.
