Meet Riley, an 11-year-old Missouri Fox Trotter gelding standing at 14.2+ hands tall with striking bay and white tobiano markings and stockings. Trail Performance & Stamina: Riley is described as a trail horse deluxe who will go anywhere you point his head and ask him to go, regardless of steep or rocky terrain. His owner rode him over 40 miles in a single week, and he handled everything asked of him effortlessly. Riding Style & Desensitization: He will ride anywhere in a pack of horses or alone with no trouble. He has been exposed to plenty of wildlife, hikers, bicycles, and ATVs. When hitched for driving without knowing prior experience, he went right off as if he had done it before, indicating he has likely been ridden and worked in various ways in his lifetime. Handling & Ground Manners: Riley loads and unloads great, and is easy to tack and untack. He has a keg shoe on every foot. He was clipped without a twitch, stood like a mouse, and behaves wonderfully during baths. Veterinary Inspection: Backed by an official health inspection report from Samantha Stapleton, D.V.M., dated October 25, 2023. The inspection confirmed he was cooperative, showed no lameness at a running walk on a firm surface, had normal heart and lung sounds with no murmurs, clear eyes, attentive ears, a body condition score of 6 out of 9, and a rectal temperature of 99.1. Blood was also drawn for a Coggins test during this exam.
