✨ 💸Quality horse for the dressage rider on a budget! ✨
Tornado King “TK” is an 11 yr old, 16.3 hh unraced thoroughbred gelding. Currently showing 2nd level and schooling 3rd. If you are willing to overlook imperfect x-rays and provide minor maintenance, TK has a lot to offer!
Originally brought along as a horse for eventing, TK has competed through novice level. After some trial and error and x-rays to confirm some mild kissing spine, we’ve decided that he’s no longer comfortable jumping consistently, but he’s still happy to hop around the occasional small (2’) course. He has many show miles at both schooling and recognized events, and dressage shows. He would be happy to keep playing at the lower levels of dressage, or continuing to work his way up the levels. Could also make a great western dressage mount!
We absolutely love this horse, but with a horse I already compete in dressage, and another coming along in eventing, it’s time for him to find his perfect dancing partner 💃
TK is not for a total beginner, but would be suitable for an intermediate rider working with a trainer.
TK has a sweet, goofball personality and gets along well with geldings and mares. He is playful but not mean, middle of the pecking order. Great for the vet and farrier, and trailering.
Currently stalled with a run 1/2 the day and turned out 1/2 the day and he likes this schedule. Up to date on shots/coggins/maintenance (yearly stifle injections, adequan). Wears front shoes, very mild cribber.
Competed recently in a recognized dressage show with a junior rider, who had only ridden him twice before the show! Links to video below
