BCM Quintessa is a 15'1H Palomino Gaited Morgan mare. At 13 years young, she is ready for her special person who has the desire to hit the trails with a bold and fearless mount.
I love how Tessa's breeder described her, "she is bred for endurance, to finish is to win". Tessa has that personality on the trail. She loves strolling out front and leading the way. The only problem is, she leaves everyone else behind and Tessa isn't even fast walking, she just floats across the terrain.
Tessa can ride with non-gaited horses as well, but you will need to have contact and usually put her behind another horse to help her match their stride.
Tessa also has been working in the arena for western dressage. She is starting to move off from the riders leg, and collecting.
While Tessa was with her breeder in Canada she was training and if I recall correctly did compete in limited distance, before being sold to a breeder where Tessa most likely had a foal every year since she was running with stallions every year although there are gap years of no registered foals, I personally feel Tessa deserved her own person who craves adventures like Tessa. Her body and reproduction is sound and she could have more foals, I would rather see her out on the trails, endurance and or dressage.
She is a doll, and not a mean bone in her body. She loads and hauls great, baths, stands for farrier, doesn't require shoes but will stand to be shod.
Tessa just spent 10 days on the road from Michigan to South Dakota to North Dakota hitting some amazing trails. Tessa hauled awesome, ate and drank like a champ and settled into each new venue with ease. We did shoe Tessa for this trip due to the rocks of South Dakota. Her only blemish is an old injury on the corner of her hoof where it was split. Your farrier and easily trim that back along with the rest of her foot. It never caused any issues on our rides. I have no idea what caused it, it happened before I purchased her.
If Tessa wasn't gaited she would not be looking for a new place to call home. I hate to see her go but I know there is a special person looking for exactly who Tessa is.
She is one heck of a mare!
