Ljósvaki is a 7-year-old, domestic bred, five-gaited gelding who is ready to find his person.
Ljósi was born in Colorado and grew up in a large herd of other young Icelandics. He was started at 4 years old and has been in regular training since then. he is educated in classical longeing, in hand work, cavaletti, and light jumping, foundational dressage exercises. trail and obstacle courses, crossing water and gait training. He is five gaited and has high potential for a good pace like his father Strokkur. Pace has not been trained yet though. He is extremely light in the bridle and pleasant in the rider's hands. He has a round, well balanced canter, a clear beated, smooth tölt, and a clean easy to ride trot and a relaxed walk. All of his gaits are easy for him and easy for the rider to access. He could really excel in the loose rein tölt and five gait classes, or as a luxury trail or endurance partner. I have been training him with working equitation in mind which I think will be so much fun to do with him since he is so light, and responsive. His height is average at 13.2hh and he has a stout but athletic build. He has very strong legs and hooves. He loves water and having a bath. He is easy to body clip, fly spray, he will stand tied without complaining for as long as you leave him. He is a pro traveler and has zero issues with the trailer. He is polite to a fault so he will never invade your space or crowd you. He also gets very attached to one person and will try his heart out for you if he trusts you. He is extremely intelligent and learns very quickly, making him an absolute joy to train. Due to his high sensitivity and desire to please, Ljósvaki is not suitable for beginners. He will do best with a calm, thoughtful rider who wants to develop a partnership with a fun, positive horse who is ready to work.
