🔥 MEET DUTCH 🔥 a 9-Year-Old Registered Dutch Harness Horse Gelding located in Elgin, IL His registered name is Dutch Diamond NH, but his friends just call him Dutch. If you're looking for a horse that blends into the background, Dutch probably isn't your guy. Standing 17.1 hands, ture black with plenty of chrome, this handsome guy has the kind of presence that gets him noticed. And fortunately, he's got more going for him than just good looks. He is sound, barefoot, and requires zero maintenance. For all his size and presence, Dutch is a true puppy dog in your pocket. He's incredibly sweet, friendly, and loves attention. He's got the looks of a serious athlete and the personality of an oversized Labrador. Dutch is 9 years old, broke to ride, and has had additional in-hand and groundwork training. He's young, healthy, sound, and has something you can't teach a horse to have, natural athletic ability and an engine to go with it. This guy needs a job. He's not looking for early retirement or a life of standing around looking pretty (although he's certainly qualified for that). He's got energy to put to good use, and I believe he'd thrive in a consistent program where he's ridden daily, given a purpose, and allowed to develop his abilities. That's exactly why I see him as such an exciting sport horse prospect. For someone interested in bringing along a jumper or event horse, he offers the athleticism and energy to make a very interesting project. Now, I'm not going to tell you Dutch is a finished jumper or ready to head off to an eventing competition tomorrow. He's not. My jumping days are long behind me and I've had no interest in jumping him under saddle. What I WILL tell you is that I've sent this big guy through a jumping chute, and apparently nobody told him that gravity is supposed to be a limiting factor. He enjoys jumping so much, if the jumps are up and he's loose in the arena, he's going over them a few times for fun. I'd love to see what someone with the right experience could develop him into. His canter is still a work in progress and needs more balance, so he will benefit from someone who enjoys bringing a horse along rather than expecting a finished product. The potential is there. He just needs someone willing to put in the miles. He's still learning how to reach down into the contact but he's figuring it out more every day. Because of his size, breed, and energy, Dutch is best suited for a confident intermediate or experienced rider. So why am I selling him? Well, we're at slightly different stages in life. Dutch has plenty of ambition and energy, and I've reached the age where I'm looking for a dance partner who prefers a slightly slower song. Nothing wrong with either of us. We just have different ideas about the tempo these days! I'd love to see him go to someone who appreciates what he is and is excited about what he could become. Low xx,xxx starting with a one. ✅ PPEs welcome. 📍 Located in Elgin, Illinois
