Khali is an 8 yo 15. 3 arabian gelding looking for a capable horse savvy kid/preteen to love on him a couple days per week. Khali is a well trained dressage horse who is coming into his third year into my lesson program. Though he has his typical Arab moments, like spooking at landscapers and staring at the far end of the arena, he does not have a malicious bone in his body and does the absolute most to baby sit his young riders. If he spooks, it’s always in place and he gives PLENTY of warning, but he tries his best to hold it together until his young riders dismount. With an impressive 0 fall score card on his record here, he is my go-to for all the “little’s”. Khali is forward thinking, but is still a lesson horse; cuts corners, stops at the gate and takes some convincing to get going, however, he has a gorgeous floating trot that he maintains on his own (he is NOT a push ride, he does not need to be squeezed along every step of the way), and a lovely lope like canter that all the kids learn on, and that quickly makes him the farm favorite among all the lesson students Due to my programs low turnover rate and current students physically out-growing khali, khali is looking for a leaser to fill some gaps. Khali would be best suited for a petite preteen/teenager or a horsemanship focused child looking to step up from lessons and dip their toes into riding solo. A rider that is already cantering or learning to canter is ideal as Khali does occasionally canter when attempting to avoid pushing into corners, though he usually stops when he realises his rider does not have the balance. due to an old meniscus tear/surgery, he is limited to flat only and has a weight limit of around 100lbs. Though Khali is exceptionally good at his job and caring for young riders, a young rider with enough sense (or willingness to learn!) to understand when he may be anxious and need a good pet and deep breath, or when to dismount would be ideal. There are certain situations I avoid putting khali in, ie: the landscapers, or snow clumps coming off the roof. Due to the nature of this lease, Potential candidates must be willing to lesson on Khali for evaluation prior to leasing, and agree to continue lessoning weekly for entire duration of lease. Lease terms are flexible between 1-3 days per week, not including lesson days. Lessons are $80 for 45 minutes private Potential leasers must be able to tack up on their own, step stool kept by his stall for saddling. Khali does have a “button” to help put his bridle on for those who cannot reach. Any person tall enough can push the “button” to help said child. Lease starts at $300 per month for 1 ride per week and increase for more.
