Gus is a handsome approximately 13-year-old gelding with a big black head and beautiful white body. Believed to be a Quarter Horse/Tennessee Walker cross. Not registered.

We purchased Gus two years ago for my daughter to ride for 4H. Since then, she has gotten into rodeoing and transitioned to riding Quarter Horses. Gus was lightly started on the barrel pattern by his previous owner.

We think Gus would make someone a nice trail horse! He rides great at home and on the trails, loads great, and stands wonderfully for the farrier. He’s been hauled to jackpots, rodeos, and shows, but is much more relaxed and comfortable in familiar surroundings.

He’s also been used as a rodeo queen mount at Sundance, riding hot laps in the arena and handling it great! He was a little unsure during the pyrotechnics but handled the experience well.

Gus has beautiful flying lead changes, has had lots of groundwork, is calm with the flag, and has been roped off of. He is a smart, forward-thinking horse who does best with a confident, consistent handler. Looking for an experienced adult rider who can continue building on what he knows.

He’s pretty much been a pasture ornament for the last year, and honestly, he’s got so much more to give than just sitting in a pasture. We hate to see him go, but feel he deserves someone who will enjoy him and give him a job.
