Chief is a paint gelding around 14 years old. He was given to up with the understanding that after some rest he would heal and be sound to ride. After a month or so with no improvement we took him to our vet for x rays and found that he has a bowed pasturn bone. We have been working closely with our vet and shoer and he is now pasture sound. We have gotten injections done on him at the vet that have been working pretty well. Right now he has a shoe on the front that helps him also. We have been doing this for the past 2 years now and he has been happy and healthy. He has not been ridden since we got him though so he is looking for a pasture pet home. He should not be penned with mares. This is the big reason why we are looking for another home for him. He is very cruel to our mare and we don’t have a set up to keep him two fences away at all times. Please feel free to message with any questions or if you happen to be interested in him. No negative comments please. We know this is a long shot and we are just trying to see if anyone out there would love a pasture pet before we make hard decisions. Thank you for reading.
