Right up front, folks, here are the key points in this long ad. Jazz has a low back, so our vet recommends a light rider-saddle combination (170 lbs. or less). He is a senior horse with some arthritis but moves beautifully when kept on a good-quality joint supplement. (I have him on DuMor FlexMor+ Platinum, which I buy from Tractor Supply.) He does well on easy trail rides of up to a few hours when he is fit. He is not suited for long, rugged rides. I want to sell this horse with the right of first refusal. For that reason, I will not sell him if he has to be transported for more than 8 hours from Bismarck, Arkansas. I also want him to go to a home with a great deal of horse experience. Jazz's value lies in how good-minded he is on the trails. He will ride out in front and is willing to follow. Crosses water. I have been on many trail rides with him, and he has always spooked in place if startled. To my knowledge, Jazz has never bolted, wheeled, bucked or reared. He loads nicely, though I have not yet had the opportunity to take him camping. Jazz is not overly spirited, but he is too forward moving for a beginner. He is an outstanding horse for an experienced horse person who wants a good-minded, smooth, slow-gaiting horse. Jazz bonds with a gentle, patient rider and will take care of you. I have a story about that. We do not have papers on Jazz, so he is considered a grade gaited horse. He has a brisk walk, then can be set up to go into a slow, smooth gait, either a rack or an amble. An experienced gaited rider will get the smoothest ride out of him. He does not have a smooth canter. Jazz has had Natural Horsemanship ground training. He is easy to catch, groom, saddle and handle. He stands well for bathing, fly spray, the farrier and the vet. Judging by his teeth, our veterinarian says Jazz was likely foaled in 2007. He is current on Coggins, vaccinations, deworming and hoof trims or shoeing. He had a dental on January 16, 2026. His teeth need to be floated yearly. He has a slight teeth misalignment, which prevents his teeth from wearing evenly. This does not affect his eating or his health or his ability to wear a bit but it is something his new owner needs to be aware of. I am very fond of Jazz and I want to find him a good home. I am selling this horse only because I have health issues, and my riding days are limited. More pics and videos are available. Transportation might be available, depending on distance. My husband can give you a quote.
