Smurf has a great mind and is extremely gentle and forgiving, making him a pleasure to be around both in and out of the saddle. In the arena, he rides around quietly with a calm, level head and will carry a nice headset when asked. He trots steady and smooth, lopes slow, collected circles, and picks up both correct leads with ease. He also neck reins and has been started swinging a rope off of him.
Outside the arena, Smurf has been extensively trail ridden. He will confidently go out alone or in a group and has been through water and over rough terrain without issue. He handles new environments with a level head and willing attitude.
