His tolt (4 beat smooth gait unique to Icelandics) is very smooth and he can be held in the tolt both fast or slow; he has a very smooth canter. He is 4 gaited and kid friendly. These small horses often live to age 30+ and are rideable even to this age. "Arty" as he is nicknamed, is in good health, ties and stands quietly and trims easily.
