‘Sylvester’ had a short lived, but high money earning, career on the track and was retired from racing in 2016. He was instantly a hard worker, doing anything asked of him, and has dabbled in many events. Jumping, English equitation, barrels, poles, figure 8, carrying a flag for grand entry and trail riding in the mountains are just a handful of things he has on his resume. He does best in consistent training with a firm hand and soft riding. When worked consistently and correctly, he is soft, smooth, and will do anything asked of him. He would excel with an intermediate rider of any age working with a trainer, or an experienced rider looking to have fun for many different experiences. On the ground, he is kid safe, dog gentle, easy on fences and travels exceptionally. He settles into new stalls well and enjoys going into new arenas. He is easy to lunge, and doesn’t mind being ridden English, western or bareback. Sylvester would be most comfortable with a working home, where he knows he is expected to stand for shoeing, blanketing, fly masks, polos, wraps, leading, cross ties and tying. He is content being around dogs, cats, young kids, cattle, mules, flags, tractors, busy warm up pens, and on the trail with a friend. One of his favorite things is playing in the river or pond, and loves to paw and splash others around him.
