Meet Sudden Creek Honey, affectionately known as Alaska – a stunning 7-year-old dappled grey registered Shire mare standing a solid 17.2 hands. Sired by the multi-national champion Loud Bridge Louis, Alaska carries not only impeccable breeding but also the versatility, temperament, and work ethic to match. Alaska is broke to ride and drive, and she's the same horse in the arena as she is out on the trail. She's been exposed to it all – road safe, crosses water and brides, climbs mountains, and loves all the attention she can get. She confidently took part in the Salt Grass Trail Ride to the Houston Stock Show and Rodeo this year, traveling among nearly 300 riders and 22 horse-drawn wagons, while crossing highway intersections and active train tracks without hesitation. Whether you ride solo or in a group, Alaska is your steady partner. She’ll lead, follow, or ride quietly in the middle. She’s been ponied off of and ponies others with ease, and has a calm, willing nature that makes her a pleasure to work with. Alaska is trained to swing her hip to a mounting block or nearby object for easy mounting. She's even been used to haul out round bales to the pasture, whether they roll smoothly or lump and clump along behind her. She keeps a level head and is willing to really put muscle into pulling in addition to driving her light weight road cart. She has always been barefoot and stands well for the farrier without stocks. She self-loads into the trailer, is respectful on the ground, and fits well in a mixed herd, comfortably holding a middle-of-the-pack position. If you're looking for a gentle giant with brains, beauty, and experience — whether for trail riding, driving, parades, expos, or simply enjoying the countryside — Alaska is ready for her next partner.
