Juno is a sweet, curious, “in-your-pocket” type mare she is who genuinely wants to learn. She is a 9 year old, 15.2hh Appaloosa. She thrives with consistency and needs someone who has the time to keep both her feet and mind engaged. Unfortunately, I can’t give her the time and attention she deserves. She’s best suited for an experienced rider with a calm, confident demeanor—someone who won’t take her shenanigans but will guide her with fairness. Juno has a bit of that young-horse mischief, but she is not spooky. She’s been around heavy machinery, kids, dogs, and construction without missing a beat. She’s not the biggest fan of the arena and can sometimes get “sticky feet” when working there, but with good groundwork and a steady approach, she settles in. She doesn’t have a ton of rides under her yet, so consistency will go a long way in helping her progress. Juno came to me with a few challenges. She does not tie and was very buddy-sour in the beginning. However, she’s made great strides—she now rides out alone calmly and stays connected. With trust, she can leave her herd and be just fine. She loads and travels well as long as she’s not tied in the trailer. She bathes easily, stands great for the farrier, has strong bare feet (she has never needed shoes), and is up to date on vaccines. I love this horse and want the best for her. She’s the type of mare that wants to please and will bond with her person over time. She’s smart and full of potential—she just needs the right person to bring it out.
