Listing on behalf of owners: Meet Maggie! Maggie is a 15 year old, 15.1 hand AQHA mare looking for her next adventure. Maggie received professional western training in her younger years, and this shines through when in consistent work. She has not been heavily ridden in the last few years but her training/handling has been maintained. She is light to pressure both on the ground and under saddle. Her ground work is superb. BECAUSE she has fancy buttons and higher level training, Maggie will excel under an intermediate/experienced rider, though, has shown potential to step down to her riders needs if she was supported by a knowledgeable hand (ie. a trainer or knowledge rider). Maggie enjoys ring work and trail riding. She is NOT slow or poky by any means. This girl can GO, but also has a great stop on her. She requires support on the trail in order to keep her from rushing or becoming unsettled. This should be considered when inquiring for a trail mount as you won’t be sipping your drink as you plot along down the trail on her. Brave riders who enjoy a forward mount would find her a blast to ride! What’s our dream home for Maggie? Maggie could succeed in a variety of roles; but, she tends to really connect to one person. An adult or young adult (perhaps even a mother and daughter) could have a lot of fun playing around at lower levels in the ring, at shows, or exploring the trail with her. She is NOT your next 1d barrel horse or busy lesson program shoe in. Only homes that can offer friends, freedom, and forage will be considered. Maggie is UTD on anything and everything she may need. She stands politely for the vet, farrier, and dentist. Maggie currently receives ‘Succeed’ for hind-gut support. She goes barefoot, but should someone consistently trail ride, she would benefit from boots or shoes on hard ground. If interested in learning more about Maggie, please feel free to reach out. Owners are requesting a site visit as well as vet and farrier references from serious parties. Maggie will be homed on a contract in order to ensure her success/safety for the rest of her life. Special consideration given to homes interested in both Maggie and Jazz, Belgian gelding listed below.
