Cowboy is a previous reiner who now specializes in the Ranch Rail, Ranch Trail, & Ranch Riding. Due to no fault of his own he has minimal time in the show pen (which means less hard show miles/wear & tear under his belt). However, he is too nice to not be shown which is why he is for sale as we don’t see being able to show him in the near future. I usually have a hard time saying a is 100 percent bombproof, however I can say that Cowboy is as close to bombproof as you can get. The whole time we have had him he has never spooked. I am currently 6+ months pregnant & trust him so much to still ride through my pregnancy. Our trails have wildlife, bikers, loose dogs, atvs, reckless kids on e bikes, motorcycles, & fast rude drivers & he has not once batted an eye at anything. He is used to being around cows & is great with dogs. He goes on trail in a group (can be a lead horse or tie up the back of the group), but is perfectly content and confident going out alone. Cowboy can be ponied & also is a great horse to use to pony. He’s currently in a full training show barn program- however he’s an easy horse to manage, so he is NOT a horse that needs a hard core training program by any means, & doesn’t need to be ridden everyday. He would be a great horse for a do it yourself amateur, youth or someone who wants him at home- however he is so talented we would love for him to be able to shine in the show pen. He is currently ridden by the trainer (in the video) & by his owner who is a green novice amateur. He loads & unloads perfectly from the trailer & rides great in the trailer. He easily settles & adjusts to new places. He’s polite when picking his feet & great for the farrier. Perfect to clip/shave. Cross ties, regular ties, & ground ties perfectly. A gentleman to hose off & groom. Up to date on vaccines (June 26th), up to date on teeth float (January 2025). Up to date on shoeing. He requires zero maintenance. And I mean nothing, no injections, nothing ever- he is the easiest keeper. He’s got great legs & great solid feet. He has basic shoes on the front & back. He only has shoes because of the trails and full training work load wore his back feet too much when we had him barefoot. However if you aren’t much of a trail rider or depending on his work load his shoes can come off. He also has never seen the vet for anything other than teeth and vaccines & two little lumps removed on his neck that we wanted to take off & have biopsied & both came back benign. We are happy to open his vet records for a serious buyer. And (obviously) open to him having a vet check at the buyers expense. Cowboys ONLY vice is that he is a cribber but all of his other qualities easily make up for it!
