Tim is a seasoned, versatile Gypsy gelding with a strong, correct build and years of consistent professional training under his belt. He has been in full-time training with KD Performance Horses (Katie Hembree, MN) from 2020 to 2024 and is well-versed in both arena and outside.
He is steady, smart, and willing...the kind of gelding who steps up for any job and handles it with a capable mindset. He has been roped off of, cattle work (especially team sorting) to rugged trail riding and long days in challenging terrain, Tim is a reliable partner. He’s been ridden by a range of ages and experience levels, including teenagers and older adults, and is confident in a wide variety of environments. He really doesn't prefer the show scene - his forte is out being a using gelding.
When Tim did show - he preferred the riding/trail classes.
He is 4 STAR GVHS Evaluation rated. He earned his Versatility Medallion of Honor & Gold Medallion of Quality with English, Western, and Driving.
Highlights:
• Solid in the arena and out.
• Beginner-friendly with consistent riding.
• Confident trail mount: ridden in South Dakota hills & ravines, ridden trails also in Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, and Minnesota.
• Ranch: has roped and pulled cattle.
• Guns: has been shot off of.
• Safe, sane, and good minded.
• Bathes well (no ears, please!), clips, ties, loads, and stands for the farrier/vet/etc.
• No buck, bite, or kick.
• He is green broke in driving but could easily continue that training for a cart horse.
Tim is PSSM1 (n/P1) and has shown zero symptoms even under heavy, consistent work. He’s a thick, strong, correct gelding with the bone and body to go all day. He is on no special dietary regimen.
