Skip the appy POA is looking to call some lucky new person his own. If you think he may be the right fit for you and your family, please reach out for an appointment to come meet him! Skip is a seven-year-old registered POA. You are unlikely to meet as personable a pony as Skip is. He’s as friendly and loving as the day is long, and has a winning personality. He’s the perfect size (~14.2HH)—small enough to fit the kids, but beyond stout enough to be ridden by adults. He was well-started as a three year old before beginning his career as a trail and pleasure horse for his elderly owner, from whom the current owners purchased him. They planned on using him in a lesson program, but with too many other horses, they decided to put Skip up for sale to see if they can find his perfect human! Skip is currently undergoing a 30-day tune up to refresh his old skills and learn some new ones. *Now* is your chance to bring Skip home with you at the lowest price possible—this lovely dude’s value will continue to climb as he gains more experience and training. Skip is difficult NOT to catch—I dare you to try to leave the pasture without him! He stands like a gentleman at the tie rail and the mounting block, loads onto any trailer you point him at, and can be groomed and handled by virtually anyone. He gets along instantly with every horse we’ve introduced him to, and is absolutely a no-drama llama. While his preferred housing is at pasture, he can also be stalled without issue. Skip rides beautifully both in and out of the arena, and is as comfortable wearing an English or a Western saddle as he is carrying his rider bareback. He is educated and responsive in both a bosal and a snaffle bit. He’s well established in walk/trot/canter, halts and backs well, and is currently brushing up on some basic lateral movements. Skip is a solid, steady fellow who would sooner die than allow his rider to come unseated. Skip is as close to a 50/50 split of “whoa/go” as I can think of—he’s got a good stop when asked, but you don’t have to peddle too hard to make him go. On the trail, he’ll happily lead or follow, will cross bridges and water, and is just as good in the dark as he is during the day. One of the first real rides Skip and I (weighing ~170-175 w/ tack) went on was a 10-mile nighttime trail ride using either the moon or my headlamp for illumination—Skip did great! He\'s a perfect pony for an adult pleasure or trail rider. He would likely do well for confident children, given the opportunity. Call or text 307-281-2864 for more info on this cool dude!
