Dudes Poco Express is a sweet and handsome 2022 AQHA registered red dun gelding. He stands about 14.3H, and is still growing. He may mature at about 15.1H. He is built solid, and he is quick and athletic. A perfect gentleman on the ground, he likes people, and he stands still for grooming, saddling and mounting. He has never offered to bite or kick, he loads and unloads easily, he picks up his feet, and he is very calm despite his young age. rnPoco is UTD on vaccines, deworming, dental and hoof trims (he is barefoot), and does great with the farrier and the vet. He gets along well with other horses in the herd. 100% sound. rnThis colt was broke by Sam Grogan, and then spent about nine months in foundation training with Sam last year as a two year old. He is light and responsive and willing to please. I bought him about a year ago, with the intention of using him on the trails when my older horse is retired. But I’ve had some recent physical challenges, and I no longer have the energy to give him the consistency he really deserves to reach his potential. rnHis w/t/c foundation is very solid, he’s a quick learner. He would do well as a 4H or gymkhana mount. He can back up, turn on the hind and on the forehand, and he’s learning to sidepass, spin and do rollbacks. He’s used to seeing wildlife like deer, turkeys, rabbits, coyotes, etc. He is also fine around tractors and other machinery, but he hasn’t had much experience in traffic. Full disclosure: he did bolt once from an encounter with an aggressive dog. However, he is normally calm and curious and not spooky. He just needs more miles to develop his confidence. He is gentle with everyone, he’s smart, and if you are a reassuring rider to help him advance, he will be a solid trail or arena horse for you for many years. Come try him out!
