Peptolena San Badger (barn name “Buck”) is a big stout buckskin 2023 gelding that we bred and raised here on the ranch. He was running with his dam on pasture until he went to a professional trainer to be started under saddle. He has been ridden extensively on a weekly basis since then and will continue to be ridden until he finds his new home (unless my 9-year old falls more in love with him and will not let me sell him. LOL). Buck has been gentle, trusting and unflappable since the day he was born. He is a real mounted shooting prospect–the trainer thinks he was born broke! Buck is already 14 hh and he just turned 2 years old. Buck’s sire is our big blue Peptoboonsmal stallion that we have been breeding for several years. He carries Driftwood and Hancock horses in his pedigree. Buck’s dam is a big Palomino mare whose breeding features Doc OLena and Freckles Playboy. His dam can spin both ways, lope those circles and stop on a dime, like a finished Reiner. Both parents are really gentle to handle and easy to ride. Buck has been exposed extensively to cows and other farm animals. He is an excellent ranch horse. He is an excellent rope horse prospect, obviously he will get you down the trails, and we think he will be good for mounted shooting, cowboy extreme races, and obstacle courses. There is not one thing he has been exposed to that he has not accepted without complaint. You can depend on this horse to be sane and sound. He will be a valuable partner for any cowboy who needs to get a job done, and credit to any barn. He stands tied quietly for hours; he loads, unloads, and hauls quiet with other horses. You can easily wash, groom, trim him up or shoe him. Like all our home bred horses, he has a big square hip, clean straight legs, refined head, and correct conformation for athleticism and versatility. Take Buck home with you and you will be well mounted for years to come.
