Matilda is a roughly 10 yearold mare, about 15.2hh. She’s up to date on all routine care: teeth were floated in May, she has a current negative Coggins, is trimmed every 8 weeks, and sees the chiropractor every 6–8 weeks. She lives out 24/7 and keeps weight easily on just hay, no grain needed. She does great in a stall too but we haven’t stalled her in 6ish months. She’s a sweet girl with a lot of personality. She can be a little hard to catch if you go out empty handed, but bring a bucket or treats and she’ll be right there waiting for you. She gets a bit antsy for the farrier, but nothing dangerous or unmanageable. She strongly prefers to be ridden bitless. I’ve tried several bits over the years and she’s just never been comfortable in one. I have ridden her bridleless in the past without issues, but it’s been a few years. Her riding has mostly been basic walk/trot work, but she’s a smart mare and has plenty of potential with someone who wants to bring her along. She’s been exposed to tarps, bridges, creeks, pool noodles, and other obstacles, and she’s good around four wheelers, dirt bikes, and golf carts. I haven’t ridden her out by a road. She loads easily and consistently, stands tied for grooming and tacking, and is generally well mannered, though she can get fidgety during baths. She hasn’t been ridden in a few months and would benefit from a refresher, but she has always come back quickly with consistent work. I just don’t have the time to dedicate to her anymore and hate seeing her sit when she deserves more. pictures and videos available upon request.
