Bocephus (“Bo”) – 11 y/o Paint Gelding – 15.1hh
Bo is an 11-year-old bay Paint gelding with white socks and a bald face. He has been ridden English and western, trail ridden extensively, camped, and is comfortable riding alone or in groups. Indoor, outdoor arena, round pen, or trail — no issue.
He crosses bridges, loves water, is good with other animals, and is used to normal farm activity. Bo has carried flags, been introduced to gaming patterns (has speed), attended a jumping clinic, and then gone trail riding the next weekend.
Good walk, trot, and canter. Works on or off a lunge line, moves off leg and seat, and neck reins. Loads and hauls well, easy to catch, very food motivated. Stands well for vet and farrier. Up to date on shots and deworming, has a new full set of shoes (soft-footed). Teeth due to be floated next month.
Bo has a great personality and the best facial expressions! He’s been a barn favorite wherever he goes. He’s goofy and lovable and bonds well with his person.
Bo is NOT beginner safe. He can be stubborn and requires consistent riding, a firm hand, and a confident rider. He will test riders who are timid or inconsistent. For full transparency, he has bucked and unseated a teen rider twice due to a poorly fitting saddle. Proper tack fit and experienced handling are essential.
