Nova is an OTTB grade mare with a past as a ranch horse. She’s approximately 10 years old, based on veterinary dental evaluations. She does great on trail, she is good with kids and beginners of all ages. However, her larger size makes her best suitable for a larger adult. She is not very spooky, zero bucks, rears, or bolts. Occasionally when she feels a little too energized we just lunge her for a bit and then she’s good to go under saddle! She stands for the farrier. She’s been used as a lesson horse in my training/lesson program and has done very well with different students due to her gentle demeanor under saddle. She’s very eager to please and likes a job to do! She can be a bit sensitive and have a mare attitude during tacking up at times. I blame it on her heat cycle. Like most mares. She’s done basic flat work, gone over a few tiny jumps, seems to like gymkhana, and has done some barrel patterns. Although tight turns are not her particular strength. But she tries hard! Her canter can be super fun! She’s a big girl with a large stride! On hack days students ride her bareback. I’m only selling because I have too many horses and struggling with the upkeep! I would like to use her stall to bring in a boarding client soon. Nova is an easy keeper. She’s on zero maintenance. Does well with other horses in the pasture and behaves very well in her stall. Like I had mentioned she can be a little temperamental when in heat. Not a horse with a future in high performance. If you’re looking for that she will not be your kind of horse. She’s a bit stiff due to being an OTTB, but works out of the stiffness during warm ups. She does not collect well enough or bend in the turn well enough to be an upper level dressage horse nor would she do well with higher jumps. Not the best jumper. She could potentially be used as a surrogate brood mare, but she’d have to be evaluated by a vet to determine if she’s suitable. She would make a great family horse, hobby ranch horse, a basic level lesson horse or a trail companion or a companion to a horse who needs a barn mate. She’s sweet and deserves a good home where she is loved! She’s UTD on vaccines, dental work, she’s shoe’d on all fours which has helped her balance in the arena. Shoes are due on 4/15. X-Rays available from 2025. I do not check emails on this site often.
