Cider is a 17hh+ 2013 OTTB gelding, JC name “Wine Not”. (I don’t own a stick yet- I’ll figure that out soon!) Cider is ready for his new person after a couple years in a field as his kid went to college. I’ve been getting him back to fitness and he’s ready for the spring show season! He could easily go out at BN tomorrow and probably crush everyone, or if you’re less of a chicken than me, you could probably just take him novice. I’m told he’s gone around Novice before, and while I’ve yet to test XC because of season and trailer issues, I’d easily believe that. I’ll give you the summary, but I’m happy to tell you as MUCH about him as you’d like to hear— message me for long answers. Ciders perfect person will probably: - Have a champagne taste on a beer budget. - Be someone who wants a horse with their own confidence to jumps. - Be ready for an athletic move up horse who is generally forgiving and takes jokes, that they can love and connect with as much as their retiring steady eddy. - Enjoy just a little spice in their ride, and be willing to add leg and allow a few extra minutes to warm up and get loose, but doesn’t want to argue about everything just because their horse would rather be jumping puissance or heading to the Olympics 😅 - a rider who can be decisive and firm with aids when needed, but always fair and ready to soften their hands and let him work - want to HAVE FUN and maybe giggle like a school girl when your tough jump lessons suddenly feel SO EASY 😄 What Cider is: - BIG! Over 17hh and feels it, though he sits nicely- not a fence rail and not a wine barrel. - Big, floaty mover! He could easily go into a dressage arena and score well at 1st level currently. With more work and muscling, he can easily get you your bronze medal and probably more! - very responsive to your seat, leg and rein aids, but without being hyper sensitive. - happy to go around all 3 phases in a snaffle. Noseband optional. Reins recommended. - he LOVES to work and please his rider! - he's very much a large dog. Very in your pocket but with good manners (remind him occasionally), often comes when called in the field, and always happy to spend time with his person. What Cider is not: - a kick ride that your grandmother can ride. He's currently not for a beginner. - either spooky OR completely unflappable. He’s clearly seen a lot in the world and isn’t impressed by most drama- but I will not claim he’s bombproof. I’m fresh out of 💣 to test with, and every horse has their thing that will eventually bother him. - dead quiet. He's got a little spice, but it's not unmanageable or "mean". For personal 💲💲 reasons, I need to find his new place soon, but my goal is to find someone who can find their perfect new partner for a steal of a deal. Only💲1️⃣5️⃣k for the right home and uncomplicated sale!
