Dani, is a beautiful dark, dark bay (most people think she’s black), with a lovely half heart on her head and two little white socks. Dani has a sweet nature, but is not necessarily an in your pocket mare. She loves pasture living, but will come into a stall with motivation of some grain offering (she will do anything for Omelene!). Once in a stall, she is easy to halter (sticks her nose in it) and has impeccable ground manners! I could climb underneath her all around doing anything- she won’t move and keeps her awareness of where you are. She does not possess a mean bone in her body and has never made an effort to bite, kick, or do any other negative behaviors in the 7 years I’ve had her. Dani possesses strong groundwork skills and knows shoulder and haunch turns (does them very well), lunges with minimal body cues and responds to verbal cuing as well as hand signals and stays in tune with you. You can lunge her easily in a round pen or on a 10ft lead line- she will be soft and perfect for both. She is excellent for the farrier and trailer loads. Dani needs a confident rider (more confident that I am). She has been ridden by Wylene Wilson and was 100% perfect going through any obstacle. With me? If I get nervous, so does she. She used to be a spook, spin, and run away horse- she doesn’t do that anymore and most of her spooks are small jumps nowadays. She can get nervous during saddling and antsy at times, but has been doing well with this since I obtained a lighter saddle that fits her better (she needs a semi/regular tree- not full bars). We would still consider her to be fairly green due to lack of miles and, while she’s been worked with on the ground regularly, I have not been riding her for some time- so she could use a tune up (which my daughter can provide a 30 day tune up if desired!). My ideal partner for her would be someone gentle and kind, that could help to continue to teach her to manage her emotions and tension, and gain confidence. She responds well to R+ training methods. Dani could potentially be suited for LD or endurance because she has one of the SMOOTHEST trots I have ever ridden, and she can finish a sweaty workout and she’s just getting started! She will go-go-go. She would be equally happy as a trail partner, she has also been trained in English and Western riding and does well with both. She also tends to have good mama tendencies when we have babies around- so may serve well as a recip mare potentially. Otherwise she is fairly low in ranking with pasture mates (she will occasionally dislike certain mares, but generally gets over it quickly) and has been in a mixed herd the last 4 years.
