Maizie is a 9-year-old registered Paint mare who offers the versatility, rideability, and temperament that so many riders are looking for but rarely find in one horse. She is the type of horse you can take from the dressage arena to a 2’6” course, then head out on the trail — all in the same week. A true all-around partner, she is ideal for riders who want variety in their program without needing multiple horses. Maizie is soft, balanced, and a naturally attractive mover with a willing, steady mind, making her both enjoyable to ride and to watch. She has a solid foundation on the flat, is comfortable and honest over fences, and enjoys getting out of the arena. What she does well: -Solid flatwork and capable of a lovely training-level dressage test -Comfortable and willing over fences up to 2’6” -Confident on the trail when she has a buddy (has limited trail experience on her own) -Suitable for english and western riding -Easy to manage — ties, clips, loads She is easy to have in the barn and fits well into a program. Maizie lives well in a group setting and tends to take on a leadership role. She is straightforward to handle and ride, with a kind, steady temperament. Maizie is best suited for a teen or adult rider who can continue to add miles and consistency to her program. While she is good with kids and safe for occasional beginner rides, she is not being sold as a primary kids’ horse at this time. With continued development, she has the potential to become even more suitable for younger riders. It is not often you find a horse that can comfortably cross between English and Western disciplines while maintaining rideability, soundness, and a good brain. The bottom line: Maizie is a fun, uncomplicated horse that you can enjoy immediately while continuing to bring along. Up to date on vaccines, dental care, and farrier.
