Are you looking for a Trail Horse, husband horse or timid rider horse? If you are this is him! Butters is a beautiful 13-year-old, 15.2 hand grade buttermilk buckskin gelding. This horse has more whoa than go and has a very good natured and kind disposition. In the arena he has a smooth jog, takes his leads, backs up with ease and will side pass to open and close the gate. Butters is outstanding to ride out anywhere. He is calm and solid riding around our busy neighborhood streets and handles the fast-passing vehicles, dogs running up barking and the neighbors mini farm as well as everything else we encounter like it’s just another day at the office. He is equally solid riding out on our mountain trails. He crosses the river, creeks, dead fall and trail bridge without hesitation and will lead, follow or ride peacefully in any position of the group. He does not care if the other horses are riding up his butt and crowding him and will go out on his own as well. Butters was a one owner horse for most of his life, being rode by a gentleman who is now in his late 70’s. He used Butters primarily as a trail horse and occasionally used him for ranch work, moving cattle and checking fences. When he gave up riding is when we acquired him. We owned him last year and the woman that bought him bought two and can now only keep one. She just trail rode him in the hills enjoying the views. Butters gets along very well turned out with the other horses and is equally content to be in a smaller pen or box stall. He stands tied quietly for tacking and mounting, is good to bathe, load and haul. He’s good with time off, has no bad habits and is a good citizen. 100% safe, sane and sound.
