Meet Titan, a stunning 17.2hh Clydesdale x Warmblood gelding. Titan is a big, impressive horse with six solid months of training for mounted patrol work.
He has a willing, gentle personality. He loves “his person” and will wait at the gate all day to come out and be ridden. He’s one of the most kind, sensible and trustworthy horses I have owned.
Titan rides English or western (he couldn’t care less!) and is a sporty ride for his massive size! He stands quietly at the mounting block and waits for the que to walk off. Hop on, take a phone call or practice standing on his back - he will wait as long as you’d like!
Titan has smooth gaits that are easy to sit. He is responsive to the aids, and has been trained to the spur as part of his mounted patrol training. Titan moves off the leg and knows leg yield, turn on the forehand and turn on the haunches. He backs straight and willingly. He is soft in the bridle and will go on the bit, or you can ride him with absolute slack in the reins and he’s just as responsive either way. Rides one handed (in a snaffle) - drink your coffee and go for a ride!
Titan loves riding outside and exploring, and has done almost all of his riding outside alone. He isn’t barn sour or herd bound. He goes through water, over small logs, and is sure footed in hilly terrain. In the arena, he has conquered about every obstacle - flares, bridges, tarps, flags, etc. He is also trained to drive and is broke to farm machinery. He will drag ropes, bells, tires and tarps. Ride him once a week or every day, and he is the same horse.
Titan is easy to catch and has excellent ground manners. He cross ties and straight ties. Easily loads in a normal sized two horse trailer. He stalls well and is low on the pecking order when turned out with others. He currently is out at night with fiends in a field and comes in to a stall during the day.
He is good for the vet and farrier and does not need shoes. He is currently shod up front only for street work (as part of his mounted patrol preparation) but does NOT need shoes. He has NO VICES, is sound with no maintenance or supplements. He’s an EASY keeper and very easy to live with! Will pass a rigorous PPE.
