B and T’s Ramblin Dock, “Beau”, is a 12 year old (3/15/2014), 14.3 hand registered chocolate palomino Rocky Mountain gelding. He does great barefoot, but has also been shod. He has lived in a field with a herd and in a stable. He ties/cross ties/trailers/bathes/blankets/utd on vaccines/teeth and is well behaved from the saddle and in hand. Beau is a very sweet and willing boy. He is pleasantly forward and sensitive but with a good and ready stop or slow. He has only been ridden Western, but by dressage riders and trainers, so he has all the buttons and abilities to go any discipline. Beau knows slow walk, flat walk, slow/fast rack, and canter. He can trot as well, but it is not his preferred gait and it has not been encouraged. His gaits are smooth and easy to ride as you would expect with his breed. They are also set, and very easy to teach riders who are new to gaited horses. He was the first gaited horse that his riders in the video had ridden. He is a great ride for an amateur or professional. Beau has been out on trails, ridden through many obstacles; he navigates gates and water. He rarely spooks and when he does it is not wild or large. He is friendly and gets along well with other horses. He has been introduced to an amateur drill team and did a fantastic job. Beau is as sweet a horse as ever and is always very well mannered, the only challenging thing about him is that he can be shy about being caught. He is very willing once you have him. He has never kicked or pinned his ears, he just gets worried that he is going to be hurt and moves away from you. Once he fully trusts a person, it gets very manageable and he lets you catch him easily. He’s distrustful of new/unfamiliar people so he needs to be haltered to be blanketed. With a loving, calm and kind human who is willing to go slow when haltering, he is happy to put his nose in his halter and ready to ride into the sunset.
