Possum is your classic AQHA type — brave, kind, and incredibly level-headed. Started correctly at two, then thoughtfully turned back out for a year to mature and just be a young horse. He’s been brought along lightly since, and every ride he comes out willing, quiet, and ready to learn.
He has never offered anything naughty and is definitely more “whoa” than “go” — the type that could safely pack around your grandma one day and step into a job the next. I could easily see him excelling in the hunter ring or becoming a versatile all-around western partner.
Currently saddle and bridle broke with all the hard foundation work already done for you. He has not been started over fences yet, but shows plenty of natural promise on the lunge. While he may be behind for his age, that was intentional — I strongly believe in letting young horses mature mentally and physically before pushing them into full work.
He’s already been introduced to trails, water, beaches, and new environments and handles everything with a quiet, willing attitude.
A wonderful prospect for someone wanting to finish one their own way without dealing with the chaos that often comes with a young horse. ✨
