Stetson is a “Let’s DO it” kinda guy! Barn favorite with a personality! Absolute show stopper in color pattern WITH A LONG FULL TAIL!!!!!!! I have personally owned Stetson since he was 3 (7 years) and bought him directly from his breeder out of Iowa. He has been brought along slowly and correctly without ever being mishandled, overused, or rushed. He has professional training in English and western. His intended use was a family trail horse and to do local horse shows. Although he has done well at that task, he really years for a life of more adventure and excitement. We have taken Setson multi-day trail riding in the hills of Oklahoma, on the rocky terrain of the Texas hill country, walking along the side walks of downtown Tomball, and to a gas station in our neighborhood! He has been to the beach galloping on the sand, and to several local shows including a hunter jumper show and a western trail class. There really isn’t much this horse doesn’t want to do. Most recently he has taken on more English style riding. He is extremely soft in the mouth, collects easily, moves off leg, and does some lateral work. Stetson has been leased to a friend who does Eventing for the past 6 months and is proving to be an absolute ROCK STAR! He never refuses, goes easily through water and jumps over any cross country obstacles. He has 3 correct gaits, picks up both leads, and knows a simple lead change. We truly believe Stetson has a career in eventing given his bold and brave nature. He is a 10 year old who has just started really training for eventing so he has his whole career ahead of him and will go very far with the right rider. **This horse would be most appreciated by the advanced and educated rider who would appreciate a sensitive type ride. He responds well to soft hands and a rider who pays attention to effective communication. Other facts; He stands tied, but can be impatient. Excellent with vet and ferrier. Never has been lame since we owned him and only injured once requiring a vet visit (deep cut on a rear leg). He gets regular body work done and is up to date on all vaccines, dental, and coggins. He was gelded at the appropriate age, but he does tend to let his “willy” hang loose if you are just standing still or grooming him, however, he will put it away once you begin to work. He can be mouthy if given treats, and does tend to fall higher in the pecking order in herds. I have an absurd amount of pictures and videos from the YEARS of owning this beautiful horse. PLEASE only reach out if SERIOUSLY interested. I do NOT have the time to send pictures and videos to everyone who just wants to see what he looks like. He is for sale because I simply do not have the time after having a baby and we could use the money since, you know… we had a baby. A 5 STAR HOME IS A MUST. Period. Priority to those in a program.
