Batman is a 6yo black thoroughbred gelding standing 15.2. (the sun has bleached his coat to look bay right now). Born and raised in Ireland and has lovely bone with great feet to show for his time on limestone soil.
He has wonderful ground manners, stands quietly for grooming (even sheeth cleaning), saddling, at the mounting block, blanketing, worming, bathing and shoeing. Easy keeper, not a fussy eater, loads without issue and good to haul. Gets along well in a herd, not dominant or aggressive but not low man either and not a bit herd bound. Rides out alone without any fuss.
This horse LOVES to jump, even in the pasture he will jump over a log instead of going around it. Durning flat work he will watch the fences as he wants to jump. Brave to a fence, lots of scope, careful with no duck, even coming in on a wrong stride, he’ll get himself over the fence.
I have been mostly focused on flat work, getting him soft in the face and body. The jumping talent is there. He has NO buck or rear and is not spooky. At my place he has to deal with dogs, steers, team-ropers, gun shots (my neighbors shoot clays), flags, tarps and general organized chaos. He is super laid back at home arena but can be watchie in new places. If given the time to look around and process his surroundings he settles well. He’s a very smart horse, quick learner and wants to please. He can handle long work sessions and doesn’t get hot, he actually gets better. No soundness issues and requires no special maintenance. He’s a forward moving horse and has more go than woo. I believe he is ideal for eventing given his bravery, athletic ability and willing nature. Perfect step up horse for a competent rider. Up to date on shots, worming shoes and dental work.
This is a very nice young horse, just needing more schooling and hauling.
