Sansa is the kind of mare you’ll find yourself reaching for every single day because she’s honest, dependable, and genuinely enjoys having a job. Whether you’re heading out to check fences, gather cattle, or spend an evening riding the trails, she’ll meet you at the gate with the same willing attitude.
Her sweet, kind eye says it all. Once she gets to know you, she’ll be your best friend. She loves attention, enjoys being with her person, and has the quiet confidence everyone searches for but few horses truly have.
Sansa is incredibly gentle with exceptional ground manners. She’s easy to catch, leads quietly, loads without hesitation, stands tied patiently, saddles easily, and patiently waits while you mount. She picks up all four feet with ease and has the kind of disposition that makes every day enjoyable.
Out on the ranch, Sansa comes alive. She absolutely loves gathering cattle and has a natural cow sense that makes the work enjoyable for both horse and rider. Unlike many mares, she doesn’t carry a “mare attitude.” The only time you’ll notice a little extra determination is when cattle are involved—she knows her job and is eager to go to work.
On the trail, she’s as dependable as they come. Water crossings, rocky terrain, hills, uneven ground—it doesn’t matter. She’ll quietly and willingly take you wherever you point her. She’s not spooky, doesn’t overreact, and gives you confidence every step of the way.
Around the ranch, she’s accustomed to tractors, four-wheelers, lawn mowers, dogs, and traffic. While we primarily ride on the ranch rather than through town, she’s seen vehicles and takes them in stride without fuss.
Sansa neck reins, has a good reverse, and is handy enough to get a day’s work done without being overly complicated. She isn’t fancy broke, and she isn’t a deadhead either. She’s responsive, willing, and enjoyable to ride while remaining safe and gentle.
She gets along well with other horses, has a wonderful attitude, and truly aims to please. Horses like Sansa don’t come around every day—they’re the ones people remember years later because they never let you down.
