10-year-old Thoroughbred Gelding | 15.2 HH

Forest is a fun, athletic Thoroughbred looking for a confident, calm rider who appreciates a sensitive horse. He has been jumping courses up to 2’3”, is not particularly spooky, and would also enjoy hitting the trails. He is currently ridden by my preteen and teen students and has proven to be an enjoyable partner when paired with the right person. Forest has been used in Pony club as a D2/D3 mount and has potential to make it up to a C1 mount with consistent work with the right rider.

His ideal rider is 12 years old or older with soft, balanced hands and an independent seat. He is a sensitive horse who thrives when his rider stays relaxed and connected. If a rider braces or becomes tense, he can become anxious. When ridden with softness and confidence, he is an incredibly rewarding, willing, and fun horse.

Forest is an easy keeper and currently does well on alfalfa pellets and Vermont Blend feed. He is barefoot and comfortably wears hoof boots while being ridden.

He is a cribber, which is well managed with a Miracle Collar. Because of his mental and physical well-being, he must remain on turnout and is not suitable for a stalled lifestyle. Finding the right home that can meet this need is very important to me.

This sweet gelding would be an excellent match for a confident junior, teen, or adult amateur looking for a kind, athletic partner to continue developing with over fences, on the flat, or out on the trails.
