“Blue Chicks Count” is a thick, well-built APHA mare, 14hh, 11 years old, who’s as sweet as they come. She’s been an excellent broodmare, having raised two beautiful foals, and is an outstanding trail horse. She never spooks but takes the time to thoughtfully analyze everything around her. She happily goes out alone or with other horses and rides just as well bareback or saddled, in either a bridle or a halter. She’s done a variety of trail obstacles and confidently crosses water, bridges, logs, tarps, mattresses, small jumps, and other obstacles without hesitation. She’s been to multiple mounted shooting practices and has had guns fired off her multiple times, taking it all in stride. She’s even been ridden in dresses and handles all the extra movement without concern. She also loves liberty work and knows how to side pass, side pass over a pole, Spanish walk, step up on boxes, and is learning to confidently straddle a pole. She’s willing, intelligent, and enjoys learning new things. She’s incredibly gentle with kids and has a kind, affectionate personality that makes her a joy to be around. She loads easily, stands quietly for baths and fly spray, and has her feet done regularly every month. She was recently rehabilitated from an inflamed collateral ligament and has returned to work well. She’s currently on the heavier side from her time off but is getting back into shape. She’s also a bit tricky to saddle-fit due to her build and can be picky about which saddle she likes. I’ve owned her for about a year and know her well. She’s an incredibly kind mare and will make someone a wonderful trail partner. 📍Located in Spanaway with trails nearby to take her for a spin. Please, serious adult inquiries only.
