Whisper is a 5-year-old, 14hh Mustang looking for an experienced trainer/rider who enjoys a good project and wants to bring along a smart, athletic young horse.
I've owned him for 7 months and have put a lot of time and consistency into preparing him to become a riding horse. He has a strong foundation on the ground and has been started thoughtfully using positive reinforcement and natural horsemanship techniques.
His foundation includes:
• Solid groundwork
• Liberty basics
• Excellent lunging
• Saddling
• Extensive desensitization — tarps, noodle gardens, spinning barrels, signs, flags, etc.
• Picks up all four feet well
• Loads in a trailer
• Can be tied up
• Stands for the farrier and vet
• Has been exposed to a variety of environments and obstacles

He has been ridden 11 times, primarily in the arena and round pen, with one short trail ride. He is still very green under saddle and should be considered a project horse.
Whisper is extremely friendly and has a great personality on the ground. He is curious, willing, and has a lot of potential with the right person.

I also want to be completely transparent: he has bucked me off once and still has typical Mustang instincts/reactivity, particularly when something is chasing him or moves quickly behind him. He is not a beginner, child, or casual-rider horse at this stage.
He needs an experienced adult who understands young Mustangs and is comfortable continuing his education.

I'm selling him because I've realized he needs more time and consistency than I can currently give him, and I don't think he's the right fit for the kid/teen program I help with.

I would much rather see him go to an experienced trainer or Mustang-savvy home where someone can take their time with him and help him reach his potential.
I truly think this horse could shine in the right hands.

I did not receive the title/ownership paperwork from the previous owner, so the documentation will need to be properly sorted out with the appropriate agency/process.
