Benedict is ready to find his person!
Benny is a 4 year old Friesian x Morgan/Standardbred cross. He is currently at 15.3 hh. He string tests to 16hh. Benny has a thick, lovely mane and tail.
Benny is fabulous for the farrier, vet, and chiropractor. His groundwork is solid - ties, loads, grooms, lunges, personal space, saddling, and easy to catch.
He is currently barefoot (his feet are fantastic), and is up to date on his dental & vaccines.
Under saddle he is a gentleman as well. He is calm but responsive. Benny walk/trot/canters with no issues, sidepasses, leg yields, backs, and pivots. He does have a big action trot.
Benny LOVES trail riding. I have hauled him out frequently to different trail heads in Iowa. I took him camping in Wisconsin this summer as well. He hauled great and stalled well. He isn't spooky and will cover some ground at a walk! I have had a young teen ride him out on the trails as well.
He crosses logs, water, ditches, and bridges with no arguments.
This horse is very sweet and willing. I have hauled him to a clinic, a cowgirl challenge, and a donkey sort. He handled it all really well considering it was all brand new to him! Benny willingly chased the calves and trotted a pretty okayish barrel pattern at the cowgirl challenge.
He was great with the donkey sorting!
I was told he drives as well but I have not driven him.
He is an easy keeper. Benny is on grass hay & some pasture time when the weather allows it.
Benny is higher up in the herd. He loves to play rough with the other young geldings.
