I purchased Calliope, with her 2 month old filly, when she was 3. Neither of them could be haltered or even approached at that time. I got to practice a lot of interaction techniques and a ton of ground work. I probably learned more than they did, but they have learned a lot and come 180 degrees from where they were. Calliope comes to the gate everytime and is very friendly and sociable. She has a really solid ground work foundation both on halter and in liberty work, she stands without being tied when being groomed and fly sprayed and she stands great, while tied, for the farrier and worming. In addition to haltered and liberty ground work, Calliope does very well over 12” jumps and she has a very solid start on driving. We have put in roughly 20 driving sessions using a bitless side pull headstall and standard harness. I will send links to videos of her working, if you are interested. I never thought that I would be selling them, but the doctors say that I need to cut back. I don’t want them to be hay munchers or pasture ornaments, they enjoy putting in some work.
