Honor is truly a dream horse, and offering him for sale is heartbreaking. He is only being offered because I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that prevents me from riding my horses. He is young, talented, and ready for someone who can continue developing his potential.
Honor is a 7-year-old, 50% Friesian, 25% Percheron, 25% Morgan gelding, registered with the FBHR. He is a beautiful combination of size, athleticism, and a wonderful mind.
He is very child-safe, quiet, gentle, and incredibly willing. He is soft and responsive to light aids, responding willingly to gentle cues. He will ride out alone or with a group.
He has a sweet, almost puppy-dog personality and comes looking for me when he sees me heading out to the pasture. He is the kind of horse you become deeply attached to—and I certainly have. ❤️
Honor rides and drives and has experience in a variety of settings. He has:
* Been ridden English, Western, and bareback
* Been ridden bridleless using a neck rope
* Been jumping 2-foot jumps
* Been driven and worked as part of a team pulling a hay rake at an Amish farm
* Been exposed to things that can make a horse nervous, including having a bullwhip cracked off of him
* Shown that he is comfortable around water—he loves it!
Most of Honor’s riding and driving experience has been off pavement, with limited experience on paved roads.
Honor is happy to go out and work without being hot or difficult to handle. He is easy to keep, stands well for the vet and farrier, and has been tolerant of the many things we have introduced him to.
Honor will have a full veterinary exam before the auction. You are welcome to contact me to see whether the results are available.
And then there are his looks! His long, full mane and tail, beautiful feathering, and substantial build make him stand out wherever he goes.
He truly is one of a kind. I can hardly believe I am selling him, but I want him to go to someone who will love and appreciate him as much as I do and give him the opportunity to reach his full potential.
