Chief is a 15-year-old, 16.1 HH blanket Appaloosa gelding with extensive trail experience.

He is an athletic, forward-moving gelding with plenty of go and is best suited for an experienced rider who enjoys a responsive, sensitive horse with energy and enthusiasm. Chief needs a partner, not a passenger. He is a nice option for someone looking for a seasoned trail partner with the stamina and willingness to get out and go.

Chief gets along well with other horses, crosses water, trailers great, ties, camps, has lots of experience riding through very rough terrain and mountains. He is good for the farrier and the vet.

He is looking for someone who is confident, kind, thoughtful, and fair. Someone who has a soft hand, will connect with him, and be his person. He loves to go. He enjoys an adventure. He can have an opinion but is willing to listen to yours. He is an excellent communicator if you know how to listen.

BONUS: Concho is a 25-year-old QH gelding and would love to come with Chief to his new home as his companion. He is healthy and can be lightly ridden. He has a heart of gold and wouldn’t dream of bucking but he is not a child’s horse as he is way too independent and opinionated. Taking them both is not a deal breaker, just an option for the right home.
