Ace has been our daughter's pony since she was 9 years old. She's now 13 and has outgrown him. He's an 18-year-old, approximately 13.2-hand, NSSHA-registered black-and-white Spotted Saddle Horse gelding. He's smooth-gaited, well-broke, and versatile, with fun show and speed event experience, including 2nd place in my daughter's division. He's calm going into and coming out of the arena gate. Ace has countless trail miles through water, mud, hills, woods, and rough terrain. He's often been our lead horse and has been on overnight camping trips, where he high-ties well. He's easy to catch, groom, saddle, load, and handle for the farrier. He picks up all four feet. He's barefoot now but has worn shoes for longer rides on rough trails. We haven't had issues with bucking, biting, kicking, or rearing in the four years we've owned him. He lives with mares and can be a little bossy with pasture mates. Ace is beginner-friendly for a child who already knows how to stop, steer, and ask a horse to move forward, but he's not for a child with absolutely no riding experience. He can be buddy sour in unfamiliar places when other horses ride away, although my daughter rides him independently on our property without issues. Most of our riding is together. Current Coggins, teeth floated in 2026, and routine veterinary care up to date. Fed hay and daily grain without special requirements. Ace has been an incredible pony for our daughter. We're NOT in a rush to sell; finding the right rider and loving home matters most. $10,000 | Blue Grass, Iowa | Transportation may be arranged at buyer's expense. Registration papers, pictures, and many videos available. Serious inquiries only, please. Tell us about the intended rider, their experience, and the home Ace would have.
