Irish is a 12 year old 16 hh grade gelding. He is friendly and easy to be around. He is good to catch, groom, saddle and bridle. He stands to get on from the ground, and as a plus, will also come over to a fence so you can mount from there. Irish has done some arena and round pen work. You can flag other horses off of him and he has even been hauled to some sorting practices which he seemed to enjoy. But, he really excels on the trail. He is very brave and loves to get out and explore. He will go all day and while he prefers to be in a group he will also go out by himself. He crosses water, doesn't mind town commotion, and can maneuver in rough country. He would even make a good overnight camping horse as you can pony a pack horse off of him with no problems. Irish is big and powerful so while he is gentle, I wouldn't recommend him for a novice rider as he may startle one unintentionally. Irish is currently barefoot and is going fine that way for me, though a person may want to put boots on him if he was being ridden on rocky terrain. If you have any questions, or would like to set up a time to meet Irish, please call or text me. Thank you for your interest.
