Meet Willy! 🖤
Willy is a gorgeous 16H buckskin Mammoth Draft John mule with a whole lot of experience under his belt! At 23 years young, this big guy has been there, done that, and is about as versatile as they come.
Willy rides, drives, packs, plows and hauls! He can work on either side of a team and is experienced in both riding and driving. He’s great on the trails, crosses water and bridges, and has wonderful ground manners. He’s definitely more WHOA than GO, and is the kind of mule that knows his job without needing a lot of direction. He’s an easy keeper, has zero vices, and stands quietly for the farrier and vet. Just an all-around good boy who’s easy to have around!
One of the best things about Willy is his personality! He’s an incredibly affectionate boy who genuinely loves people. If you’re outside working, chances are Willy wants to be right there with you. He loves attention, enjoys being fussed over, and would much rather be hanging out with his people than off doing his own thing. He’s a big sweetheart who just wants to be part of whatever you’re doing!
He’s safe for all ages, from the little ones to the grandparents! Whether you’re looking for a dependable trail partner, a driving mule, a working or pack mule, or just a big, beautiful boy to enjoy, Willy has a lot to offer.
And don’t let his age fool you! For those who aren’t familiar with mules, they often enjoy considerably longer working lives than horses. Healthy, well-cared-for mules can remain active and useful into their 30s and sometimes even their 40s. At 23, Willy may still have plenty of good years ahead of him. Of course, every mule is an individual, but he’s currently sound and doing great!
Willy is grade, stands a full 16 hands, and is a big, handsome boy with a lot of presence and an even bigger personality!
We’re hoping to find him a wonderful home where his experience, versatility and affectionate nature will be appreciated. He deserves people who will enjoy him as much as he enjoys them.
