For sale: Primo Alfelo (barn name Rio) a registered bay Thoroughbred gelding, born April 12,2018.
Rio has been a valued part of our Equine Therapy Program here at Hope for Heroes Horsemanship Center since November 2020, helping Veterans with PTSD, get their lives back by helping them build new coping skills. Rio has saved Veterans from committing suicide which shows his special gift with working with people.
As we are in the need to downsize our program and herd, we are looking for someone special to give him a person of his very own and a new chapter beyond working with many different people.
With a solid foundation in Clinton Andersons Level 1 Fundamentals, Rio knows his groundwork exercises, round penning. He has been ridden English, Western, Bareback and also goes in a bitless bridle, snaffle, and even bridleless! He has spent plenty of time on the wooded trails and arena with the Veterans and has experience with Mountain Trail Obstacles. He can also be ridden alone.
Rio is a beautiful mover with potential for dressage, High School Equestrian or 4-H with a knowledgeable rider. He loves people and is easy to catch, groom, bathe, clip, farrier care, and tack up and ride. In our herd he is right in the middle of the pecking order, and loves two mares!
Rio is current on all veterinary care, and farrier care. Video available on request. We’d love to help you get to know him and explore whether he’s the right match for you!
For more information or to schedule a visit, please contact Carly, who has done his training and keeps him tuned up at 360-789-2116, or Debbi, Operations Director at 360-259-3782.
