Scout is a stunning 6-year-old Draft X gelding with a beautiful sooty buckskin coat, a thick mane and tail, and a sweet, affectionate personality. He’s an easy keeper, healthy, sound, and barefoot. He has no vices—no cribbing, wood-chewing, or kicking—and his x-rays are clean.

Note: As a foal, Scout experienced frostbite on his left ear, which resulted in the tip being removed. This is purely cosmetic and does not affect his health or performance.rnI purchased Scout as a training project for my lesson program. While we’ve made good progress, my current time constraints and full barn have limited my ability to continue his development.

Scout is a kind and personable horse on the ground. He leads, loads, ties, and trailers well. He gets along great with other horses and is respectful in herd settings. He also enjoys trail riding.rnrnCurrently, Scout is thriving as a companion horse and could continue in this role beautifully. He bonds quickly and deeply with other horses, bringing a steady, calming presence to the herd. With his affectionate nature and sensitivity, he also has strong potential as a liberty horse, a therapy horse equine assisted therapy, or an equine partner for groundwork and relationship-based training. Whether you’re looking for a loyal quiet pasture companion, a therapy horse or groundwork- and riding focused partner, Scout brings heart and presence to the partnership.

Under saddle, Scout is green and can be nervous. He’s been ridden only a few times and tends to spin when unsure. However, he has never bucked, reared, or bolted. Because of this, he is not suited for a beginner or lesson program at this time. He would do best with a confident, experienced rider or, ideally, a dedicated rider working with a skilled trainer to continue his education. With the right partnership, Scout has excellent potential. His lovely disposition and willingness make him a promising candidate for the right person.

Finding the Right Home: It’s very important to me that Scout goes to a home where he’ll be loved, respected, and given the time to build trust. He’ll thrive with someone patient and committed to working with a trainer to help him reach his full potential. The price reflects my desire to find the right fit for Scout’s future.
